Symptom description

Plugging in the charging cable does not start charging, or charging stops shortly after starting without reaching the expected level.

Common causes

  • A fault with the charging cable or the public charging station itself (very common - try a different charger first)
  • A fault in the car's onboard charger
  • A charge port door or connector fault preventing a secure connection
  • The car's battery management system limiting charging due to extreme temperature or a detected fault

Try a different charging cable or station first - a large share of "won't charge" cases turn out to be the external equipment, not the car.
