One or more doors, or sometimes the trunk/hatch, is not fully closed.
Check all doors and the trunk and close them firmly. If the light stays on with everything closed, the latch switch on the indicated door may need replacing.
Not recommended until confirmed closed - a door that opens while driving is a serious safety risk. Stop and check before continuing.
