Park Assist / Parking Sensor Fault Light

Informational - status, not a fault

parking sensor light · park distance control light

What it means

The ultrasonic parking sensors or automatic parking assist system has detected a fault and may be temporarily unavailable.

Common causes

  • Sensors covered in mud, snow, ice, or a thick layer of road grime
  • Aftermarket bumper accessory or trailer hitch blocking a sensor
  • Damaged sensor from a minor parking bump
  • Wiring fault behind the bumper

What to do

Clean the bumper-mounted sensors first, since dirt is the most common cause. If the light persists after cleaning, have the sensors and wiring checked.

Can you keep driving?

Yes, this only affects the convenience parking aids - use mirrors and normal caution while parking until it is fixed.
